Essential oils are most used for aromatherapy purposes. Lone Sorensen created a series of essential oils that are indicated to boost the energy flow on the meridians, balance emotions and feelings and also to combine with reflex therapy and boost the effects during treatments.
Taking the refreshing scent of a whole Orange tree plant and putting it into a tiny bottle, or capturing the heart-warming fragrance of wild rose petals in a single drop, is not only amazing but also we can taste the power of nature and use it as a tool to improve our health. Essential oils are produced from all sorts of aromatic plants and herbs.
They can also be used in natural fragrances, room sprays, body and skin care. Here are some tips on how to preserve essential oils, you can help them live longer and take the most out of the therapeutic effects they have.
1-Essential oils are volatile
As many of you know essential oils are unpredictable, they can quickly lose their effects so be careful on how you store them and how you use them, make sure the cap is tightly closed. Pay attention to contamination; sometimes if we touch the dropper with our skin, we can change oil composition and put some organisms that are not beneficial.
2-Protect them from sunlight
Essential oils should also be stored in a cool, dark place avoiding contact with sunlight and out of direct light. Store them in an environment as much stable as possible.
3-Be careful with temperature fluctuations
The worst place for oils is in the bathroom or near a shower. The fluctuating heat will cause the shelf life of your oils to decrease significantly. We know you want to keep your bottles of oily goodness for as long as possible. That is why you should avoid any heat sources.
4-The caps are significant
To extend the life and quality of your essential oils: Make sure (again) that caps are tightly closed on the bottle. Please make sure they are solid caps and most important sure that caps are clean. Any contamination or rest of oils outside or surrounding the caps will oxidate the essences.
5-Good oils come in a dark glass bottle
If you use a different bottle than the one the oils came in, you should store them in amber or cobalt glass. It is never a good idea to use plastic. The oils are corrosive, and they can destroy the container. So the best is to keep them on their original bottle.
6-Check the label for high-quality oil
The name can tell us a lot about essential oils and its compositions. INCAearth oils are diluted for safe use, we use rosehip oil as base oil, we do not have to mixed them or prepare to use, and they are safe even with babies and pets.
Avoid any oils labelled as "fragrant oil", as these are most likely synthetic and especially if they do not specify the composition.
Synthetic oils may smell like essential oils or even stronger, but they can cause allergic reactions and will not provide any therapeutic effects during treatments.
7-Pay attention to the price, as it can also tell us a lot about oils quality and purity.
A high-quality oil will typically come with a higher price tag, while cheaper or synthetic oils generally are of lower quality. Of course, the price can also be inflated, but as a general rule, you get what you pay.
